Wimmera Cancer Centre

Baade Harbour Geelong (now BC) designed and delivered a new Day Oncology Unit in Regional Victoria, incorporating 15 dialysis day chairs, palliative care, a wellness centre & ancillary support spaces.

The project focused on creating a bright and spacious facility, utilising natural light to provide a comfortable, safe environment for patients receiving treatment, together with their support team, carers, and health professionals. The modern facility was designed to reflect the region's character and to create an inclusive environment for the community.

A glazed entry façade is screened by perforated weathered steel, giving the building shade and a robust material presence. The Corten surface connects the contemporary arrival sequence to the unique Wimmera landscape.
Day treatment chairs sit beside large picture windows that provide daylight and frame views of everyday town life. This supports patient comfort by connecting treatment spaces to activity beyond the clinical setting.
