We designed and delivered a state-of-the-art new police station that brought together 150 staff.
The brief called for a new facility for 150 staff, 83 relocated from existing police stations in the region and 67 new staff to meet the operational needs of a growing community. The site is characterised by its natural environment. Located at a key intersection and bounded by residential homes, the design considers its context and character whilst providing a civic presence. The building is situated to conserve existing trees, its curving shape informed by the natural contours.

Red Corten steel cladding responds to the colour of fallen leaves and the pine cones of local trees. The association with landscape continues internally through timber panelling. Warm and textural spotted gum provides an accent to an otherwise neutral palette. Large windows provide treetop views and allow light to filter into offices.
