Kurrambee Myaring Early Learning Centre

Located in Torquay North, the centre forms part of the Surf Coast Shire’s Community Precinct.

The design response works not only with the other facilities in the area but also takes into account the surrounding environment, as reflected in the shapes and finishes.

With a focus on sustainable design, rammed earth walls, rainwater collection, and natural ventilation were utilised, with an overall emphasis on light, open spaces to create a warm, inviting, and inclusive space for users of all ages.
The central courtyard allows light into the central core of the building and provides an interactive space for the childcare groups to grow vegetables and gain an understanding of rainwater use. The outdoor play areas also provide interactive, tactile and flexible play spaces.
