Hastings Community Hub

Baade Harbour Geelong (now BC) was engaged to provide design services for the redevelopment and expansion of the existing community building for the Mornington Peninsula Shire.

The brief was to design a multi-purpose and flexible facility that could cater for the needs of a variety of community groups, activities, and hours of operation, including educational, social, and recreational users.

The design includes activity space and meeting rooms, computer training rooms, a music and sound studio, art spaces, community fitness, a basketball court, a men’s shed, a kitchen, and administrative support services.
The brief was to also generate a built form that was striking and eye catching to attract a variety of users and community groups, yet low maintenance and durable.
