Bonnet Point House

We crafted a three-bedroom residence inspired by a riparian location, overlooking the River Derwent.

Completed in 2021, Bonnet Point House Tasmania was inspired by the beautiful 5-hectare parcel of land surrounding it, secluded from neighbours with panoramic views over the River Derwent to the South.

Upon approach through the forest, the house is revealed as a dramatic addition to the landscape.
Once inside, the demarcation between the house and surrounding landscape dematerialises. Extensive glazing provides a sense of being at one with the landscape and reduces reliance on artificial lighting.

The house cantilevers from the rock embankment, sitting gently on the sloped site. The design reflects a deep appreciation of place, materiality, and Australian design values. Materials include concrete, timber, and steel in muted tones of grey and black.
