Baldasso Cortese worked closely with the VHBA and East Wimmera Health Service (EWHS) on the major redevelopment of their Birchip campus, located in north-western Victoria.
The project delivered a purpose-built care facility, housing acute patients and residential aged care residents, in a welcoming, contemporary setting, with integrated operational efficiencies. The historic hospital and new extension sit side by side within Birchip’s low regional skyline, linking the campus’s civic presence with its expanded role in health and care delivery.

Within the aged care wing, communal spaces use domestic-scaled fitout and restrained finishes to create a familiar setting for gathering, daily routines and connection beyond the resident room.
